Fishing Pressure-Weekends or Weekdays
It’s Wednesday morning at a well-known bass lake as you launch at a practically deserted boat ramp. You glide over slick water to a nearby cove and approach a fallen tree, the most obvious piece of cover along the entire bank. Your first cast of the morning goes astray; your spinnerbait sails 6 feet wide of the tree’s trunk. You briskly wind in with the intention of making a better cast, but a respectable bass pounces on the lure.
You chuckle, release the suicidal fish and lay the next cast right along the trunk. Pow! Bass No. 2 nails your spinnerbait. Throughout the morning, your spinnerbait dances past windfalls, brushpiles, boat docks and other visible targets and coaxes strikes with satisfying regularity. You later head home, reassured that you are one heck of a fisherman, and that your favorite lake supports a bounty of bass. Continue Reading >>

Bass Cat Puma Review
The Bass Cat Puma and its brother the Puma FTD just might be the best boats in any line up! The “all fiberglass” compression manufacturing, utilizes our trademark vacuum process, which is years ahead of other bass boats construction methods.
The 20′4″ hull with its 94″ beam is rock solid. This hull is very stable, yet agile even in the roughest waters. The deck layout provides storage from the bow to the console with six (6) compartments. There’s even a place for your net and measuring board, close within reach. It’s trendy modular consoles designed to provide space for a built-in LCR. Plus, conversion to a dual console (DC) is a pretty simple process. This console also sports a custom designed Italian steering wheel with six (6) sides, and a Bass Cat mark in the center cap. Beside the console you will find two cool items. First, lighted handrails, which are, too cool, and added pop up mooring cleats at your fingertips for securing your ride at the dock. Compare the standard features, performance, handling, rough water ride, quality craftsmanship, customer satisfaction, and Bass Cats reputation to any bass boat on the market…bar none. Bass and the Dragonfly Pattern
by mike iaconelli
I learned about this pattern many years ago while fishing in the many shallow, weedy, cedar water lakes I grew up fishing. It?s hard to imagine, but in South Jersey, a good portion of the diet of a growing bass in the summertime are dragon flys. I?ve also seen this pattern develop in many other parts of the country, including many northern glacial lakes and the shallow weedy waters in Florida. When I first saw bass leaping 2 to 3 feet out of the water chasing airborne dragon flys, I was amazed. But, I was also determined to come up with ways to catch these actively feeding fish. Texas Worm Rig-How To
The “Texas Rigged” plastic worm is the most popular way to fish a plastic worm. It is weedless and can be fished anywhere. You can change the size of the worm, and size of the weight for a variety of different fishing conditions. The Texas rigged worm is truly the ultimate method for catching lots of bass. Below is a detailed step by step instruction for the Texas Worm Rig.
- Supplies: (1) Bullet weight (sinker), (1) Worm Hook, (1) Worm.

Bullet Weight, Worm Hook, Plastic Worm
- Insert your line through the bullet weight, pointed end first, tie the worm hook to your line with your favorite fishing knot.
- Insert the point of the hook straight into the top end of the worm, insert the hook slightly past the barb of the hook, approximately ¼ of an inch. Note: If you are using a curly tail worm, line the hook up with the curl of the tail. This will eliminate line and worm twist.

Insert Hook Into Worm
- Pull the hook through the worm at the side of the head of the worm.

Slide point of hook thru head of worm
- Slide the worm up the shank of the hook; twist the hook as you slide the worm so that the point of the hook is facing the side of the worm. Slide the worm so that the eye of the hook will be imbedded into the head of the worm.

Slide the hook all the way thru the worm head
- Once the hook is embedded into the eye, let worm and hook hang naturally making note of where the bottom of the hook lines up with the worm.
- Insert the hook point of the hook at the location of the bottom of the hook previously marked. Insert the hook all the way through the worm.

Insert the hook thru the worm
- Slide the worm back onto the hook so that the point of the hook is slightly imbedded into the worm ands so that the entire rig is straight and weedless.

The rig is complete and weedless
