I recently purchased a 2008 Champion 210 Elite with a 250 Yamaha HPDI. Surprisingly the owner’s manual is very limited to the 210. It is a general owner’s manual. I have less than 10 hours on the boat and am quite disappointed. I am a previous Champion Owner so I know the handling and quality of the name. However, some of the issues I am experiencing cause great concern. Maybe you can answer some questions for me.
1. I have a blinking red light in the power panel. I was told by Champion that it indicates a short in the system. I also have a blinking red light for the #2 aerator with no pump action. Are there 2 livewell fill pumps?
2. My steering seems extremely stiff. This is my first hydraulic jack plate so it may be a matter of me finding the sweet spot. If I have the jack plate at 3, it takes all of my strenth to turn the wheel. Also if I trim the engine more than 50% at full throttle, the boat chine walks so bad it becomes dangerous. If I put the jack plate at 1, it smoothes out but I loose the bow lift for performance. Does anyone have feedback on the best jack plate and trim settings?
Appreciate the Help!!
